Guys, I am no longer even going to qualify what I'm about to say because ... editorially... it is so long past being okay to talk about this sort of news as if the scope of lives it will affect is still where it was when you were gadget bloggers.

Your function as technology journalists - more than literally anybody else - is to understand that it is statistically not all that unreasonable, these days, to suggest that actual lives are at stake when we talk about Apple, Inc.'s (even minute) decisions to change the way these operating systems function, yes?

... considering that we have - in the interim (you were supposed to be watching) - oriented the whole of society around their day-to-day use. (Need evidence? Please hmu and I will recount some close calls both witnessed and experienced on the road do to unexpected CarPlay behavior.)

So, Liquid Glass is probably going to kill a few people but it's definitely going to cause an enormous amount of not-quite-so-dramatic disorientation, mild agitation, etc. in the aggregate.

I think we should embrace like a slightly unpolished imperfect messy design.

Why? As in... for what purpose/reason? What are we gaining here?

In this particular case, the glaring thing missing from all the discourse I've heard so far, is any mention of the bargain, which - to be frank - is the only sort of qualitative, back-and-forth discussion you should be having right now.

Regarding my removed comment (just this once, I promise)

Regarding my removed comment on the "Delving into Liquid Glass" episode of The Vergecast (713630/apple-liquid-glass-tesla-diner-vergecast):

First, I understand if this never gets a response, nor do I feel owed an explanation in the slightest. However, I'm going to assume - if a moderator graces it with their time - that they will be able to see the full text of that comment. If not, I can provide it.

If they are so inclined, then, I would sincerely like to know more details about their decision to whatever extent they're willing to indulge me. I have been an intermittent engager with The Verge throughout its history but (I'm pretty sure,) this is the first time any sort of moderation action has been taken on my correspondence.

Most notably, I guess, is that I genuinely did not expect it. I actually read the new community guidelines before posting it (sounds like a lie lol) and specifically felt that I was responding in its spirit.

Anyway, I've taken enough of your time. I really appreciate it.
